Star Local Media readers spent weeks nominating and voting on their favorite local businesses at the end of 2018, and Tuesday several of the winners got to celebrate.
Scott Wright, CEO of Star Local Media, recognized the top vote getters from the 2018 Readers Choice program in front of about 80 Frisco and Little Elm business representatives at Hall Park in Frisco.
Through Readers’ Choice, Star Local Media readers were invited to choose their favorite businesses in numerous categories, representing the very best in their community. The winners were announced in the Jan. 25 issue of the Frisco Enterprise.
Readers’ favorites received a certificate to display in their business. Mustang Creek Estates assisted living facility was one of the top winners. Throughout various publications and over four categories Mustang Creek Estates received eight awards. It was recognized in the Best Senior Care Living Facility, Best Memory Care Facility, Best Place to Work and Best Retirement Community categories.
“We won last year, so we were hoping we would repeat,” said Chris Morgan, director of sales with Mustang Creek Estates. “We felt blessed when we found out.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized,” Morgan said. “I feel like the day-to-day can get us stressed. But this was a great getaway, and it was a compliment to be recognized for our hard work.”
Billye Peery, owner of Simply Blessed Flowers said of her company winning in the Florist category, “It’s was surprising and amazing, and I feel honored. We love being a part of Frisco, and we love our customers.”
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney provided opening remarks, discussing the importance of local businesses and the awards program that recognizes them.
“This is a great showing of support for the great businesses in Frisco and Little Elm as well,” Cheney said.
